The Archery 'Monolith'

The new archery target was set up today on the left side of the range. All members are invited to test it out and shoot it up. But please note the sign... archery only! A paper target was put up and may be still be there, but archers are encouraged to bring their own, 30" and 36'' ones work great. Additional targets will soon be available for purchase in the clubhouse at cost. It's based on the honor system so please do the club right and stick the money in the envelope provided.

Karen Kerin is purchasing three 3-D targets and they should be set up soon on the 3-D range south of the trap range and down by the horse trail. Stay tuned for details.

Don't forget to RSVP for the BBQ on the 16th of August, you need to respond by August 1st!

Field Clays

Field clays had 12 participants this past Thursday, one of the best showings to date. Dave Bollinger had two fours, but he was bested by Don McNeill who picked up his first Silver Star. Don, who hasn't shot for 8 years joins the elite rank of medal holders. Only four shooters have attained this honor. Five in a row gets you a Silver, ten for a Gold.

On other news, the archery 'monolith' is nearly complete. Expect to see it on the range within a week or two. 3-D targets should be set up soon, too.

The Hypertherm event is a no go for this year, but might be re-scheduled in the future.

Don't forget to RSVP for the barbecue!

Archery and Thursday Field Clays

We held a quick archery committee meeting on Thursday night prior to shooting. Dave, Hunter, Jon and Kevin Rice came up with a proposal to seek the Board's approval for building a 4'x6' archery stop to be located on the left side of the range. Also to acquire and place three 3-D targets on a small section of the south east corner of the Club beside the old horse trail. A deer, a bear and maybe a turkey.

Beth Fish, Kevin and Hunter were joined by Beth's mom for a little post-meeting shooting. Thanks go to Dave and Charlie for scoring and running the range.
